Riding Horses
We are trying to have a few solid older horses and ponies available as we continually get requests! Some of these are our own, and some are here on consignment. Feel free to reach out to us for additional background information on them.
IHearUKnockin
“Knocker” is a 2014 17.2H OTTB Gelding. He raced quite a bit (25 starts) and has some bumps to prove it. He rides sound, flexes clean and has clean X-rays of his knees and hocks, and X-rays of both fronts showing a bone chip in one front fetlock that has yet to cause any problem!
Knocker fox hunts first flight and will go all day and jump anything you point him at. He will pony a horse, ride away from the field and you can crack a whip off of him. He stands perfectly for mounting from the ground or a block (even while out hunting). He has THE BEST canter I’ve ever ridden. He makes me feed like I could show in equitation O/F (and I am ABSOLUTELY no eq rider)! He jumps in the ring, goes in a nice frame and does some lateral work. He is a big horse and a lot of horse and can get strong jumping. He is not suited to a timid rider for that reason. No buck/rear/spook/bolt. Rides out alone too. Only strong jumping. Would also be a lovely dressage horse! He schools over fences at 1.10m currently with scope for more!

Nitro
Nitro is a gray 2015 3/4 TB, 1/4 Irish Draught gelding that stands 16.0-1/2H. Nitro does not have registration papers and cannot be registered and his price reflects this. He is a very kind and forgiving horse that loves attention and grooming and has excellent ground manners. Nitro schools over 2'6" fences nicely and is an excellent children's/AA hunter prospect. He also flats nicely (frames high or low, does some lateral work, and has nice transitions). Nitro is also very forgiving and moves nice enough to go in any ring! He is brave to the fences and also has schooled cross country. I have trail ridden him from the farm alone and in company and hauled him to one hunt trail ride. He is a little tense around a lot of commotion but does not buck, rear, or bolt and is not spooky, just tense and a little prancy for a few minutes. Nitro has all the athleticism and brains needed for an eventer, hunter, jumper, or dressage horse but will need more miles. If we get him hauled, his price will increase!

Keystone
Keystone is a 2014 Draft Cross gelding standing 14.3H. This gelding is a true ranch horse from Montana. In Montana, he was used for trail riding, roping, working cattle, ponying horses, and packing. He will ride on any terrain and in any footing. He goes out alone and in company and is happy leading or following. He also rides in the arena in a frame, picks up his leads, moves laterally off of leg and has a sliding stop! We are prepping him for foxhunting and have taken him to a hunter pace, where he was perfectly behaved. We jumped some of the smaller natural jumps at the pace, and he was perfectly willing. We will start jumping him more soon! This is a solid gelding with miles and a brain!
